PUTRAJAYA: Tan Sri Annuar Musa has accepted his removal as Barisan Nasional secretary-general, despite not being formally informed about the matter.
Annuar, in a press conference today, said he found out about his sacking about 12.30pm yesterday from reporters.
“I accept the decision made by BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who has sacked me and I texted him through WhatsApp at 1.51pm yesterday.
“For this, I want to say thank you for the opportunity to serve as secretary-general for 10 months.”
Annuar added that BN was a coalition of multiple parties, and a part of the Perikatan Nasional government, adding that as its secretary-general it was his duty to establish a harmonious situation among parties.
“I have tried to do this to the best of my abilities. Alhamdulillah,” he said.
He stressed that he would remain steadfast with Umno, adding that he would continue to contribute towards the party with dignity and integrity.-NST
