Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said he would bring up the matter to the Foreign Ministry so that one code or certification could be accepted by neighbouring countries.

“I’ve discussed this with the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry and the Health Ministry. We need a certification for those who have been vaccinated.

“My Singapore counterpart also contacted me and asked whether we can issue a universal certification.

“The vaccination process is under way. We will conduct follow-up actions, and ensure anyone who arrives via our airports follows our standard operating procedures, and (Malaysians) arriving in other countries would no longer need to be quarantined.

“This will revive the aviation industry in the region,” said Wee.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said the ministry had planned for the document, or the ‘vaccination passport’ to be issued via the MySejahtera application or a physical document, similar to the yellow fever vaccination card.- NST
