PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported 19,740 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
This marks the fifth consecutive day that the number of cases has dipped after the record high of 21,668 infections reported on Aug 12.
In a Tweet, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 1,424, 639.
Selangor recorded the highest number of infections with 5,706 cases.
This was followed by Sabah (1,728), Kedah (1,592), Sarawak (1,566), Johor (1,510), Kuala Lumpur (1,360), Penang (1,251), Kelantan (1,227), Melaka (1,120), Perak (938), Terengganu (688), Pahang (646), Putrajaya (43), Perlis (20) and Labuan (2).-FMT
