PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported a record 22,242 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
The previous record was 21,668 on Aug 12.
In a Twitter post, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 1,466,512.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 6,858.
This was followed by Sabah (2,413), Penang (1,867), Kedah (1,852), Kuala Lumpur (1,587), Johor (1,477), Sarawak (1,403), Kelantan (1,351), Perak (1,036), Pahang (675), Melaka (579), Negeri Sembilan (577), Terengganu (487), Perlis (50), Putrajaya (25), and Labuan (5).
Sarawak, Sabah, Penang and Pahang registered record-high cases.-FMT
