Selangor cops seize RM12.8mil worth of drugs in major crackdown

SHAH ALAM: In a sweeping anti-narcotics operation, Selangor police dismantled two laboratories and crippled five syndicates while seizing over RM12.8mil worth of drugs.

Selangor deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk S. Sasikala Devi said the seizures were made following a series of raids between Sept 8 and Sunday (Sept 17).

“Police from Bukit Aman, Selangor and Bukit Puchong Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) conducted raids in Shah Alam, Kajang, Subang Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Sepang and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), and arrested 14 suspects aged between 21 and 42.

“Those arrested comprised 11 locals and three foreigners.

“We seized RM3.5mil worth of heroin oil, RM6,017 worth of heroin, RM4.8mil worth of methamphetamine oil, RM839,652 worth of methamphetamines, RM56,839 worth of ganja, RM2.7mil worth of ketamine and RM854,000 worth of cocaine,” she told the media here on Tuesday (Sept 19).

It is estimated that the drugs could have supplied 1.94 million drug users if they made it onto the streets.

DCP Sasikala Devi added that the syndicates were believed to have been active since early this year.
She also said the suspects have been remanded for seven days to assist in investigations.
