PETALING JAYA: Malaysian Mt Everest climber RJ Nagarajan, who managed to conquer the world’s highest peak on May 22, has reached home safely.
Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HCTM UKM) said the climber arrived in Malaysia on Malaysia Airlines flight MH115 at 6.30am on Wednesday (May 31).
“He was accompanied by ZEROTO8000 founder Mohd Khafiz Bachok and is presently undergoing treatment at the hospital for injuries and is in stable condition,” said a statement from the pro vice-chancellor’s office (Kuala Lumpur Campus) on Thursday (June 1).
Nagarajan was met by the hospital’s medical team on his arrival at the KL International Airport (KLIA) and was immediately transferred by ambulance.
His family thanked the Emergency Medical Department of HCTM, Immigration Department, Malaysia Airlines System and Malaysian Airports Holdings Bhd for all the assistance rendered.
Nagarajan became the second Malaysian to climb all seven highest peaks in seven continents of the world after successfully conquering his seventh peak at Mount Everest on May 22.
Previously, Nagarajan had successfully climbed Mount Aconcagua in Argentina at a height of 6,961 metres (m) which is the highest peak in the South American continent, Mount Denali in the United States (6,194 m) the highest peak in North America, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania (5,895 m), the highest in Africa, Mount Elbrus in Russia (5,642 m) is the highest peak on the European continent, Mount Vinson (4,892 m) is the highest in Antarctica and Mount Kosciuszko in Australia (2,228 m) the highest on the Australian continent.
