KUALA LUMPUR: Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan has contracted Covid-19, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.
The information was relayed by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
Takiyuddin was initially scheduled to answer a question posed by Che Alias Hamid (Pas-Kemaman).
Che Alias had asked about the efforts taken by the ministry to ensure the Malayan Tiger, which is the country’s iconic species, will not go extinct.
Wan Junaidi before answering the question on behalf of Takiyuddin said; “I am representing the minister as he had contracted Covid-19.
“I was informed that I will be taking over the task to answer this important matter this morning.”-NST
