AMPANG: Twelve people have been arrested over the attempted murder of a man in Bandar Kinrara here.
Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin (pic) said the suspects were aged from 30 to 40.
“Six of them will be charged soon while five of them are witnesses.
“Another suspect was handed over to the Kuala Lumpur police as he is wanted for a case there,” he told a press conference after witnessing the handing over ceremony for the Ampang Jaya OCPD post on Thursday (Oct 15).
Police are currently looking for two men aged 40 and 48, he added.
“We believe the two men are linked to illegal online gambling activities,” Comm Noor Azam said.
On Sept 21, a man was shot by unknown assailants in Bandar Kinrara.
News of the incident was circulated on social media and WhatsApp, advising people to be cautious.
According to a Facebook post by Taqiyudin Yusof, the incident occurred on Monday (Oct 11) afternoon.
He claimed that the victim had parked his car and was about to enter his house when a gunman on a motorcycle shot him.
Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Ismadi Borhan had said police were alerted to the incident at around 12.45pm.
“We received information that a man was shot at a house on Jalan BK 5/3, Bandar Kinrara, here.
“Investigations revealed that the 35-year-old victim suffered injuries to his left ribs believed to be from a gunshot,” he said in a statement on Monday.
He said the victim was in stable condition and receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
On a separate matter, 29 people have been arrested over a shooting in Banting, Comm Noor Azam said.
“We are still investigating whether the attack was due to gang rivalry or a business dispute,” he added.
On Sept 25, two men suffered multiple injuries after they were shot by two armed gunmen in front of a secondary school in Banting.
The victims, who were in a blue luxury car, were fired at in front of SMK Telok Datok in Banting at about 12.45pm. -The Star
