Election petitions against PN wins in Masjid Tanah, Kemaman to go to full trial, Federal Court rules

PUTRAJAYA: Two election petitions filed by Barisan Nasional challenging Perikatan Nasional’s 15th General Election (GE15) wins in Masjid Tanah, Melaka and Kemaman, Terengganu will go to full trial, the Federal Court has ruled.

On Tuesday (May 2), the bench led by Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat held that there were issues that needed to be examined in a full hearing.

The Masjid Tanah parliamentary seat was won by Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, while the Kemaman MP seat was won by Che Alias Hamid, both on a Perikatan ticket, in GE15. – The Star
