JOHOR BAHRU, 18 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Malaysia’s Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) continues to strengthen its integrity and financial governance agenda through the organisation of the 2026 KESUMA Financial Officers Conference themed “Integrity-Driven Accounting: Driving KESUMA Transformation”.

The conference was officiated by Deputy Secretary-General (Operations) of KESUMA, Sutekno Ahmad Belon.

In his speech, he stressed that integrity is not merely a slogan but a fundamental principle in ensuring that the ministry’s financial management is carried out transparently, efficiently and with accountability.

According to him, financial officers play an important role as “Guardians of Public Trust” in ensuring that every fund allocated delivers a direct impact to the rakyat.

He said key areas that require careful management of public funds include workers’ welfare, human capital development, skills training and national industrial harmony.

He also emphasised that financial leakages and misappropriation not only affect organisations but also have a direct impact on people who rely on government assistance and support.

The conference also served as a platform for KESUMA financial officers to strengthen their understanding of financial management, governance, accounting reporting and integrity practices in the delivery of public services.
