CYBERJAYA, 19 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Deputy Digital Minister Wilson Ugak Kumbong officiated the launch of NextBigTech Asia 2026, which gathered policymakers, regulators, AI leaders, cybersecurity experts and digital industry players from Malaysia and abroad.
The conference, themed “Intelligent Nation, Healthier Future: Pioneering Trustworthy AI for Governance and Human Well-Being”, focused on the development of trusted artificial intelligence (AI), digital governance, cybersecurity, public digital infrastructure and smart nation development amid the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
According to the ministry, the programme serves as a strategic platform to strengthen regional cooperation as well as the sharing of best practices and expertise in developing digital and emerging technology ecosystems.
The event also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the government and industry in driving sustainable digital transformation.

The initiative is aligned with Malaysia’s aspiration towards becoming an AI Nation by 2030 while further strengthening the country’s position as a regional digital and innovation hub.
