MOTAC, KBS strengthen collaboration on tourism and youth initiatives

PUTRAJAYA, 8 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cross-ministerial collaboration following a courtesy visit by MOTAC Secretary-General Datuk Shaharuddin Abu Sohot to KBS Secretary-General Datuk Rahimi Ismail.

Held in Putrajaya on Wednesday, the strategic meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in the development of tourism, arts, culture and youth through a holistic approach.

Among the key agenda items discussed were the Malaysia Cultural Festival 2026, early preparations for the 2027 SEA Games, and Malaysia MADANI initiatives aimed at expanding the impact of people-centric programmes, increasing youth participation and strengthening the creative industry ecosystem.

Also present were MOTAC Events Management Division Secretary Razuili Jusoh and members of the KBS senior management.
