KUALA LUMPUR, 11 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – Japan Expo Malaysia (JEMY) 2026 is set to return for its seventh edition from 24 to 26 July at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), with organisers expecting to attract 50,000 visitors through a showcase of Japanese culture, tourism, business, entertainment and innovation.

Recognised as one of the official events under the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 calendar, the three-day expo will offer free admission, making Japanese cultural experiences and tourism more accessible to the public.

As Malaysia’s largest all-Japan event, JEMY 2026 will feature more than 50 exhibitors showcasing authentic Japanese cuisine, travel destinations, education opportunities, lifestyle products, anime, cosplay, technology, arts and cultural experiences. The expo will also provide a platform for Japanese and Malaysian companies to strengthen business partnerships, introduce new products and expand their market presence.

Managing Director of Siam Connection Sdn Bhd, Wong Wai Jo, said this year’s edition has been curated to bring Malaysians closer to Japan through culture, entertainment, tourism and business.

“With free admission this year and a stronger programme, we hope more Malaysians will visit the expo to discover the many facets of Japan,” he said.

The opening ceremony will feature a special performance celebrating the longstanding friendship between Malaysia and Japan, with award-winning Malaysian singer-songwriter MimiFly sharing the stage with renowned Japanese performer Naomichi Hanazono. Traditional Awa Odori dance performances from Tokushima Prefecture will also be among the cultural highlights.

Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. Shikata Noriyuki, said Japan Expo Malaysia demonstrates how cultural exchanges continue to strengthen the relationship between both nations.
