PUTRAJAYA, 21 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Gig Workers Tribunal (TPG) conducted a courtesy and benchmarking visit to the Malaysian Consumer Claims Tribunal (TTPM) to gain insights into best practices in tribunal management and operations.

The TPG delegation was led by its President, Puan Faizah Binti Salleh, and was received by TTPM chairman Puan Zarinah binti Mat Jailani and officers from the tribunal.

As a newly established tribunal under the Gig Workers Act 2025 (Act 872), TPG is responsible for hearing and deciding disputes between gig workers and contracting entities.

The visit provided TPG with an opportunity to learn from TTPM’s experience, particularly in case management, proceedings, hearing procedures and tribunal administration.

Discussions also served as a platform for both tribunals to exchange views and knowledge to strengthen the efficiency of tribunal management and the implementation of their respective functions.

The visit is expected to provide useful input towards strengthening TPG’s operations while creating opportunities for continued cooperation between TPG and TTPM.
