KUALA LUMPUR, 5 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Project Steering Committee (PSC) for the NRES-UNDP-GEF Global Wildlife Program (GWP) Malaysia convened its first meeting for 2026 to review project progress, management and strategic matters requiring the committee’s consideration.
The meeting was chaired by NRES Secretary-General YBhg. Datuk Wira Anis Rizana binti Mohd Zainudin, with discussions covering the Mid-Term Review (MTR), management feedback on the review, amendments to the Project Results Framework (PRF), as well as progress on project activities and expenditure.
The committee also discussed matters related to the management and implementation of GWP Malaysia to ensure that its components remain aligned with the established results framework.

Among those present were Deputy Director-General of the Department of Wildlife and National Parks Peninsular Malaysia (PERHILITAN) YBhg. Dato’ Fakhrul Hatta bin Musa; United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Deputy Resident Representative for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam Encik Besian Xhezo; as well as representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC), Sabah Wildlife Department (JHLS) and other stakeholders involved in the implementation of GWP Malaysia.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Kelestarian Alam (NRES), the meeting focused on strengthening the direction and implementation of the GWP Malaysia project. – The Capital Post
