KUALA LUMPUR, 5 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Jasa Kita Berhad is expanding into power infrastructure services after shareholders approved the group’s strategic diversification into the sector at an extraordinary general meeting held on 28 August 2026.
The move follows Jasa Kita’s acquisition of KT System Sdn Bhd, an electrical engineering specialist with more than 35 years of experience in high-voltage testing, commissioning and protection systems.
Jasa Kita group managing director Dato’ Sri Iskandar Mizal Mahmood said the acquisition provides the group with an established technical platform to offer services and solutions across the power infrastructure value chain while developing a new earnings stream.
KT System specialises in inspecting, testing, commissioning and maintaining electrical systems for transmission, distribution, power generation and solar projects. It also provides consulting and management services in power system protection.
The company is licensed by the Energy Commission to conduct testing and commissioning work on systems of up to 500 kilovolts (500kV), the highest voltage level used by Malaysia’s National Grid. It is also a CIDB-registered G7 contractor, a registered service provider and contractor with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), and a registered product and services provider with PETRONAS.
Its project track record includes extra-high-voltage substations, power-generation facilities and nationwide 33kV to 500kV substation assignments for TNB from the 1990s through 2025. KT System has also worked on KLIA2, LRT3, MRT2 and multiple large-scale solar plants.
Iskandar said the company’s technical experience, licences, high-voltage capability and established customer relationships position it within a specialised segment of the power infrastructure market.

He said Jasa Kita would selectively pursue opportunities across conventional and renewable generation, transmission, distribution, battery energy storage systems, industrial and critical power, data centres, smart grids and digital-power applications.
The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation projects that peak electricity demand in Peninsular Malaysia will rise about 57 per cent from 21.3GW in 2026 to 33.5GW by 2035. Data centre electricity consumption is also forecast to increase from 10,544GWh to 73,274GWh over the same period.
Based on management’s planning assumptions, Malaysia’s broader annual power infrastructure opportunity is estimated at RM40 billion to RM50 billion, with testing, protection and specialist engineering estimated to represent about 1.5 per cent to 4 per cent of project value.
Jasa Kita’s immediate priority is to strengthen KT System’s core testing, commissioning and protection capabilities, including validation and energisation, while increasing project capacity and expanding recurring inspection and maintenance work.
The group also plans to explore broader lifecycle assurance services covering monitoring, asset health and maintenance, as well as selected opportunities involving battery energy storage systems, data centres, new generation, renewable energy projects and ASEAN markets.
At the same EGM, shareholders approved Jasa Kita’s proposed acquisition of a 55 per cent equity interest in SPPH Eco Biomass Resources Sdn Bhd. Through the acquisition, the group would gain an interest in a 110.087-acre land parcel near Kuantan Port, with an indicated market value of RM50 million.- The Capital Post
