KUALA LUMPUR, 11 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Seven new initiatives worth RM59.76 million have been announced through the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) and the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (MITRA) to strengthen socioeconomic, education and community support.
Human Resources Minister YB Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan announced the initiatives during the Uyarvu MADANI Grant Presentation Ceremony Series 2 on Thursday.
Among the initiatives is Uyarvu MADANI 2.0, with RM50 million allocated to empower 1,400 B40 and M40 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
For higher education, the RM13.25 million Peranti MADANI Programme will provide digital devices to 5,000 first-year B40 and M40 students, while the RM10 million Bantuan Khas Siswa MADANI Programme will provide RM2,000 each to 5,000 B40 students.
At the primary and secondary education level, RM5.36 million has been allocated for 400 Smart Boards at 358 Tamil national-type primary schools (SJKT). The SPM and STPM Tamil Language Empowerment Programme is expected to benefit 8,690 students.

The RM5 million HARMONI MADANI Programme will provide RM20,000 each to up to 250 Gurdwaras and Indian churches to support their role as learning and social activity hubs.
A RM250,000 crime prevention programme, implemented in collaboration with the Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF), will also benefit 700 SJKT pupils in Melaka.
KESUMA Secretary-General YBhg. Hj Datuk Azman bin Mohd Yusof was also present at the ceremony.
