Go Malaysia 2026 Puts Culture at Heart of Tourism Push

KUALA LUMPUR, 12 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia is leveraging its rich cultural diversity, arts and heritage to strengthen its tourism appeal and build momentum for the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign.

Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Secretary-General YBhg. Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot attended Go Malaysia Cultural Day 2026 at EQ Hotel Kuala Lumpur on Thursday (10 September).

The event provided a platform to celebrate Malaysia’s cultural diversity as an important national asset that reflects the identity and harmony of its multicultural society.

It also highlighted the role of arts, culture and heritage in enriching the tourism experience and showcasing Malaysia’s distinctive identity to international visitors.

Go Malaysia Cultural Day 2026 also sought to build momentum for the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign by promoting the country’s festivals, traditions, arts, heritage, culinary offerings and Malaysian hospitality to the world.

The programme emphasised culture as a bridge for strengthening international cooperation and friendship while fostering greater understanding and people-to-people relations.

Cooperation between the government, industry and communities was also highlighted as an important element in ensuring the continued development of an inclusive tourism, arts and culture sector with wider benefits.
