KUALA LUMPUR, 7 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Digital is strengthening Malaysia’s digital leadership, artificial intelligence governance and national resilience as the country moves towards its AI Nation 2030 ambition.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo, ministry Secretary-General Datuk Fabian Bigar and Deputy Secretary-General (Digital Development) Ma. Sivanesan participated in the 11th Annual Malaysia OpenGov CXO Leadership Forum 2026 on 6 October.
The forum brought together public-sector and industry leaders to discuss artificial intelligence, digital trust and national resilience in an era of autonomous intelligence.
Fabian took part in a keynote fireside chat titled “Digital Sovereignty in the Age of AI: Securing Malaysia’s Autonomous Future”, which focused on strengthening sovereign digital capabilities, securing data and AI ecosystems, and supporting trusted public-sector innovation.
Sivanesan participated in another keynote fireside chat, “Trust or Turmoil? Leading the Nation Through the Age of Autonomous Intelligence”, which explored the balance between innovation and public trust, as well as stronger AI governance and national resilience.

Gobind joined the panel session “From AI Pilots to Agentic Advantage”, which examined the transition from experimental AI projects to wider implementation capable of generating value.
The discussion also covered technology and data modernisation, stronger AI capabilities and the importance of effective human oversight.
Five initiatives under the Ministry of Digital also received Recognition of Excellence Awards — Pusat Data Sektor Awam (PDSA), Malaysian Government Central Data Exchange (MyGDX), AI@Work, MyGOV Malaysia and Rakyat Digital.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Digital, the ministry’s participation and the recognition of the five initiatives reflect continued efforts to strengthen digital leadership, innovation and governance while building a secure and resilient AI ecosystem – The Capital Post
