Digital Ministry Highlights AI Development in Budget 2027 Radio Discussion

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Digital has highlighted digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI) development as key areas of focus under Budget 2027, supporting Malaysia’s ambition to become an AI Nation by 2030.

Digital Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Digital Development) Ma. Sivanesan appeared on Minnal FM on Friday (9 October) to discuss the Malaysia MADANI Budget 2027 and its initiatives related to digital transformation and AI development.

The radio appearance provided an opportunity to share information on the government’s digital development agenda and its role in supporting Malaysia’s technological progress.

Budget 2027, presented by Prime Minister and Finance Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim on 9 October, continues to place emphasis on digitalisation and AI development as part of the country’s national transformation priorities.

These areas form an important component of Malaysia’s efforts to strengthen its digital capabilities and advance the adoption of emerging technologies.

The ministry’s engagement through Minnal FM also served as a platform to communicate the government’s budget priorities to the public, particularly initiatives associated with digital development.
