JOHOR BARU: Consumers can expect to enjoy discounts from 10% to 30% on selected items at participating “Jualan Rahmah ” locations for the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.
Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Fuziah Salleh said the sales initiative is aimed at easing the people’s burden for the upcoming festive celebration and would be organised at all 600 state constituencies nationwide starting Friday (June 16).
“The ministry will not be running a festive price control scheme for Hari Raya Aidiladha as it was done during the recent Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
“The ‘Jualan Rahmah’ sale is an alternative where the participating outlets will offer at least 16 discounted items for the people to purchase as part of their festive preparations.
“The items on sale usually vary depending on the festive seasons and they are chosen by the respective outlets,” she told reporters after attending the national Student Consumer Movement gathering for public universities at Ulu Tiram here on Thursday (June 15).
She added that the sales programme would go on until June 28.
Fuziah also said that the supply of items such as beef is sufficient in the market for the upcoming festive season.
Hari Raya Aidiladha – or Hari Raya Haji – will be celebrated on June 29 this year.
