PETALING JAYA: The health ministry reported 92 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, according to its GitHub database.

The death toll now stands at 28,492.

Eleven of the deaths were classified as brought-in-dead.

Johor topped the list of fatalities with 20, followed by Penang and Sarawak (14 each), Kelantan (12), Perak and Sabah (8 each), Selangor (4), Negri Sembilan and Kuala Lumpur (3 each) and Kedah, Melaka and Terengganu (2 each).

There were no deaths in Pahang, Perlis, Labuan and Putrajaya.

As of midnight last night, there were 73,223 active cases, including 602 in intensive care units (ICU), 300 of whom require respiratory assistance.

There were also 7,414 recoveries reported, bringing the total number of those discharged to 2,334,783,

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia now stands at 2,436,498.-FMT
