E-Waste Probe: DOE Chief and Deputy Held in Custody for One Week

PUTRAJAYA: The director-general and deputy of the Department of Environment (DOE), along with an officer, have been remanded for seven days to assist investigations into alleged irregularities involving electronic waste (e-waste).

The remand, granted by Magistrate Ezrene Zakariah at the Magistrate’s Court here on Friday (Jan 30), will last until next Thursday, following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Another individual linked to the same investigation has been remanded for three days, until Sunday.
