BENGALURU 6 April 2026 (The Capital Post) – Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s hard-hitting Australian batter Tim David delivered a stunning performance as he powered his side to a commanding Indian Premier League victory over Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.

David, 30, unleashed a barrage of eight sixes in an unbeaten 70-run knock off just 25 balls, including a colossal 106-metre hit that cleared the roof of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, underlining why the franchise retained him for the 2026 season.

The defending champions posted a formidable total of 251, with captain Rajat Patidar contributing a brisk 48 not out, setting the stage for David’s late-innings onslaught that placed enormous pressure on the visitors.

Chennai head coach Stephen Fleming acknowledged his side had been competitive for much of the contest but conceded that Bengaluru’s explosive finish proved decisive. -The Capital Post
