Sabah 10 April 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Sabah government has moved to strengthen its rice distribution system by increasing supply levels while simultaneously tightening monitoring measures on rice wholesalers in the state.
Authorities said the decision is aimed at ensuring stable availability of rice in the market and preventing potential disruptions in the supply chain. The move comes amid ongoing efforts to maintain food security and stabilise essential commodity prices for consumers.
Officials added that enforcement teams will step up inspections and oversight of wholesale operations to ensure compliance with regulations and to deter any practices that could lead to artificial shortages or price manipulation.
