Beijing 22 April 2026 (The Capital Post) – China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that Foreign Minister Wang Yi will embark on an official visit to Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar from 22 to 26 April, in a diplomatic trip aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and strategic ties.
According to Beijing, Wang’s visit is scheduled at the invitation of the three Southeast Asian nations and will include a series of high-level meetings focused on political dialogue, security coordination, and economic collaboration. The trip also reflects China’s continued engagement with its neighbouring countries amid evolving regional dynamics.
A key highlight of the visit will be Wang’s participation in the inaugural China–Cambodia 2+2 strategic dialogue mechanism alongside Chinese Defence Minister Dong Jun. The platform is expected to deepen coordination on foreign affairs and defence matters between both countries.

Chinese officials stated that the discussions during the tour will also address broader regional and international issues, with an emphasis on maintaining stability and strengthening mutual trust among neighbouring states.
