Johor Baru 24 April 2026 (The Capital Post) – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on individuals alleging that he has “billions of ringgit” stored in Africa to provide concrete proof, dismissing the claims as baseless without supporting evidence.

Speaking to reporters after a dialogue session with trainees at the Temenggong Ibrahim Teacher Education Institute, Anwar said he would not entertain repeated accusations that lack substantiation, stressing that such claims could fuel slander if left unchecked.

He questioned the need to respond to multiple allegations without evidence, stating that those making such claims should present proof rather than expect a response to unverified accusations.

The remarks were made in response to a viral video circulating on social media in which a woman alleged that the Prime Minister had hidden large sums of money in Africa. The video was later shared by PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, who suggested that the allegation, if true, would raise serious concerns about national leadership.
