KUALA LUMPUR, 24 April 2026 (The Capital Post) — AEON Co. (M) Bhd. is set to strengthen its presence in the Klang Valley with the upcoming launch of AEON Mall KL Midtown, scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The new mall will be part of KL Metropolis, a 75-acre integrated development located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. With approximately 367,000 square feet of net lettable area, the mall will be positioned alongside office towers, residential units and the Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur, reinforcing the trend towards mixed-use developments that combine retail, living and working spaces within a single ecosystem.

Strategically located near established areas such as Mont Kiara, Sri Hartamas and Dutamas, AEON Mall KL Midtown is expected to serve a diverse and affluent demographic, including professionals, expatriates and residents. The integration with nearby commercial and hospitality components is anticipated to drive consistent footfall from multiple sources.
Designed to offer a balanced mix of retail, dining and lifestyle experiences, the mall will also feature a 1.5-acre rooftop linear park, providing green open space within an urban setting. The AEON supermarket will serve as the anchor tenant, while additional key tenants are expected to be announced as leasing progresses.

Accessibility remains a key highlight, with the development connected to major highways such as the SPRINT, DUKE, NKVE and Penchala Link. Future connectivity will be further enhanced by the upcoming MRT3 line, along with a proposed link bridge to the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), improving integration within the broader KL Metropolis master plan.

Managing Director Tsugutoshi Seko said the project reflects AEON’s efforts to adapt to evolving consumer expectations and urban development trends.
“Consumers today increasingly value destinations where they can spend quality time, whether through dining, socialising or leisure activities. Beyond meeting retail needs, we aim to create spaces that enhance everyday convenience and foster community connections,” he said.
AEON Mall KL Midtown will mark the company’s 28th mall in Malaysia, further strengthening its position in the country’s retail sector while contributing to the growth of Kuala Lumpur’s city centre as a vibrant commercial and lifestyle hub. – The Capital Post
