BANGI, 12 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — The Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) has reaffirmed the importance of human capital as the foundation of organisational excellence during the ministry’s Pentas Apresiasi Bintang dan Legasi 2026 ceremony held in Bangi, Selangor.
The information was shared via the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi.
Higher Education Minister Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir said an organisation is built by its people, and its success comes from sacrifice, teamwork and dedication, rather than relying solely on policies or impressive buildings.
He said the achievements of the ministry are not centred only on its leadership or minister, but are the result of strong synergy among staff at all levels who carry out their responsibilities with commitment and integrity.
The appreciation ceremony was held to recognise KPT personnel who have shown outstanding performance, as well as to honour retirees who have contributed valuable service and legacy throughout their careers.
During the event, 34 staff members received the Anugerah Kecemerlangan Seri Utama (AKSU), the ministry’s highest recognition for exceptional achievements throughout the year.
Six officers were also awarded the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC 2025), conferred by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in recognition of their excellent contributions beyond official duties.
In addition, 116 staff members received the Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (APC 2025) for demonstrating discipline, integrity and strong dedication in carrying out their duties.

The minister also paid tribute to former KPT secretary-general Datuk Dr. Anesee Ibrahim for her credible leadership, strategic decision-making and contributions to strengthening the ministry’s governance.
Appreciation was also extended to former Deputy Secretary-General (Policy), Dato’ Dr. Haji Megat Sany Megat Ahmad Supian, for his role in shaping policies and strategic planning during his five years of service with KPT.
Dr. Zambry also urged KPT personnel to be bold in moving beyond their comfort zones and to practise a more innovative work culture to ensure the ministry remains relevant in facing rapid global changes.
He also welcomed the ministry’s new leadership, including KPT Secretary-General Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Aminuddin Hassim and Deputy Secretary-General (Policy) Ahmad Rizal Adnan, to continue strengthening KPT for a brighter future in higher education.
Also present were Deputy Higher Education Minister Adam Adli Abd Halim, Director-General of Higher Education Datuk Prof. Dr. Azlinda Azman, Director-General of Polytechnic and Community College Education Dr. Shamsuri Abdullah, as well as KPT senior management, agencies and public higher education institution representatives. – The Capital Post
