KUALA LUMPUR, 13 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim recently received an honorary visit from renowned scholar and international relations expert Prof Seyyed Vali Reza Nasr to discuss geopolitical developments involving the United States and Iran.
According to information shared on Anwar Ibrahim’s official Facebook page, Prof Nasr, who specialises in West Asian politics and Islamic studies, is currently in Malaysia at the invitation of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the ongoing US-Iran conflict and its implications on global geopolitical stability, regional security and the current global energy supply crisis.
Anwar also expressed hope that diplomatic efforts and international engagement initiatives would help ease tensions and contribute towards ensuring peace, stability and global well-being.
