KUALA LUMPUR, May 15, 2026 (The Capital Post) — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has reaffirmed the important role of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) as a core institution in empowering the Bumiputera community through a fair, inclusive and comprehensive development agenda.
According to information shared on the official Facebook page of Anwar Ibrahim, the empowerment effort can be strengthened through improved access to quality education, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), skills training, education financing, entrepreneurial development as well as support for small and medium enterprises.
Anwar said policies championed by MARA could help produce more skilled and semi-skilled workers, alongside competitive local professionals and entrepreneurs who are capable of contributing to the nation’s workforce and economic growth.
He added that the initiatives would also enhance Bumiputera participation, ownership and mastery within the national economy in line with current needs and future challenges.

Through various transformation initiatives and entrepreneur scaling programmes, MARA has benefited millions of Bumiputera students and entrepreneurs in strengthening social mobility and economic resilience in the country.
The prime minister said the matter was emphasised during a special meeting with MARA’s top management today to ensure the Bumiputera empowerment agenda continues to be driven through good governance, integrity and effective implementation. – The Capital Post
