SUBANG JAYA, 17 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Epson Malaysia has introduced the new WorkForce DS-530III, a high-speed A4 duplex sheet-fed colour scanner designed to improve office productivity and support modern digital document workflows.
The new scanner, developed for performance-driven office environments, combines fast scanning speeds, intelligent document protection and versatile media handling within a compact design suitable for businesses undergoing digital transformation.
According to Epson, the WorkForce DS-530III offers scanning speeds of up to 40 pages per minute (ppm) or 80 images per minute (ipm), along with a daily duty cycle of up to 6,500 pages. The scanner also features an automatic feeding mode that enables continuous batch scanning of documents in various sizes into a single digital file.
To improve reliability and scanning accuracy, the DS-530III is equipped with Epson’s paper protection technology and double feed detection skip (DFDS) feature, allowing it to detect abnormal feeds while safely handling documents with folds, staples or stickers.
The scanner also includes a glass dirt detection system that alerts users when the scanning glass requires cleaning, helping reduce rescanning interruptions during high-volume operations.
Epson stated that the device is designed with user-friendly functionality, featuring a customisable one-touch scan button and one-pass duplex scanning capability that captures both sides of a document simultaneously to speed up processing.
The DS-530III additionally supports carrier sheets and automatic carrier sheet detection, enabling users to scan fragile or irregular-sized materials such as receipts and sensitive documents more efficiently.
For businesses requiring expanded functionality, the scanner can also be paired with the Epson Perfection V39II flatbed photo scanner through an optional flatbed dock, creating a hybrid scanning solution capable of handling books, thicker materials and delicate documents.
The device is supported by Epson Scan 2 and Document Capture Pro software, which provide advanced image enhancement, optical character recognition (OCR), barcode recognition and automated file management tools to streamline repetitive scanning tasks and improve workflow efficiency.
