IGP Awarded Perlis Royal Honour Carrying “Dato’ Seri” Title

ARAU, 17 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Malaysia’s Inspector-General of Police, Mohd Khalid Ismail, was conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Seri Paduka Mahkota Perlis (S.P.M.P.), which carries the title “Dato’ Seri”, by Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail during the Royal Investiture Ceremony held in conjunction with the ruler’s 83rd Official Birthday celebration at Balairong Seri, Istana Arau.

Also in attendance at the ceremony were Tengku Fauziah Tengku Abdul Rashid, Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Shahreen Akashah Khalil.

The Seri Paduka Mahkota Perlis is the second highest state honour in Perlis and is awarded to individuals who have rendered outstanding service and major contributions to the nation.

Among other recipients of the honour were Chief Secretary to the Government, Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Chief of Defence Forces, Malek Razak Sulaiman, former Inspector-General of Police, Razarudin Husain and Director-General of Public Service, Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz.

A total of 21 individuals received state honours during the investiture ceremony in recognition of their contributions and services to the country and the state.

Later in the evening, Mohd Khalid Ismail was expected to attend the royal dinner held in conjunction with the 83rd Official Birthday celebration of the Raja of Perlis at Dewan Bankuasi, Istana Arau.
