KUALA LUMPUR, 24 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Airbnb has unveiled a major expansion of its travel platform for summer 2026, introducing new travel services, exclusive experiences, boutique hotel offerings and AI-powered features aimed at enhancing the overall travel experience.
The announcement forms part of Airbnb’s continued move beyond home stays following the earlier launch of Airbnb Experiences and Airbnb Services. According to the company, millions of users worldwide have already used the platform to book accommodation, local experiences and personalised travel services.
Among the latest additions are grocery delivery, airport pickup services, luggage storage and car rentals integrated directly into the Airbnb app.
Through a partnership with Instacart, guests in selected United States cities can now arrange grocery deliveries before arriving at their Airbnb accommodation. The company is also collaborating with Welcome Pickups to provide airport transportation services across more than 160 cities globally.
In addition, Airbnb has partnered with Bounce to offer luggage storage access in over 15,000 locations across 175 cities worldwide. Car rental services will also soon be available directly through the app, with users receiving credits toward future bookings.
Airbnb co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Brian Chesky said travel should go beyond convenience by creating meaningful and memorable experiences for travellers.
He noted that the company aims to provide more opportunities for guests to explore destinations through unique accommodations, local cultural experiences and services that simplify travel planning.

The platform is also expanding its Airbnb Experiences segment with thousands of new activities focused on landmarks, food culture and global events.
Among the highlights are guided experiences at famous attractions such as the Tower of London, Tokyo Skytree and Taj Mahal, as well as exclusive culinary experiences through collaborations with Chef’s Table and Grand Central Market.
Airbnb additionally announced special FIFA World Cup 2026 experiences across six host cities, including watch parties with former football stars Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy, alongside football training sessions led by Argentine icon Javier Mascherano.
As part of its accommodation expansion, Airbnb is bringing thousands of boutique and independent hotels onto its platform across 20 major destinations including New York, Paris, London, Madrid, Rome and Singapore. The company said these hotels are selected based on design, hospitality and neighbourhood experience rather than large-chain branding.
The platform also introduced several new AI-powered features, including AI-generated review summaries, trip comparison tools, shared itinerary planning and an upgraded multilingual customer support assistant available in 11 languages.
Airbnb said many of the new services and features are already available in selected countries, while additional app upgrades and car rental functions will roll out later this summer. – The Capital Post
