KUALA LUMPUR, 29 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook today conducted a site inspection at the Chan Sow Lin LRT Station following the train derailment involving the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line.
During the visit, he was briefed on the train recovery operations, including the use of a special crane to remove the affected train before track repair works commence.
According to the Ministry of Transport, affected LRT services are expected to resume operations as early as next Wednesday, with repair works estimated to take between three and five days.
As a safety precaution, train operations will initially be conducted at reduced speeds for several days before returning to normal service levels.
For the time being, trains travelling from Ampang towards Sentul Timur will terminate at Chan Sow Lin Station before turning back to Ampang to facilitate repair works at the affected section.

The ministry noted that no injuries were reported during the incident and all 25 passengers onboard were safely evacuated in accordance with established safety procedures.
The Ministry of Transport and Prasarana Malaysia Berhad will continue to monitor repair works closely to ensure the safety and reliability of public transport services remain a priority.
