KEUB 2026 Charts New Future for Bumiputera Entrepreneurs

KUALA TERENGGANU, June 3, 2026 (The Capital Post) – According to information shared on the official Facebook page of the Naib Canselor Universiti Teknologi MARA , Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi officiated the closing ceremony of the Bumiputera Entrepreneur Economic Convention (KEUB) 2026 in Terengganu.

The convention highlighted the need for a shift in the Bumiputera economic agenda from reliance on grants towards greater equity ownership, technological mastery and participation in global value chains.

Speaking at the event, Ahmad Zahid stressed that the Bumiputera economic agenda must progress beyond participation and focus on ownership, technology adoption and leadership in strategic economic sectors.

He noted that rapid advancements in the digital economy, artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies require Bumiputera entrepreneurs to position themselves as innovators, platform owners and key players in future industries.

The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasised the importance of stronger collaboration between the government, educational institutions, industry players, government-linked companies and entrepreneurs to build a more resilient and competitive Bumiputera economic ecosystem.

UiTM described KEUB 2026 as a significant outcome of strategic collaboration between the university, KETENGAH and the Ministry of Economy, aimed at developing a more holistic and sustainable framework for Bumiputera economic development.

The university also presented the KEUB 2026 Resolution to Ahmad Zahid, expressing hope that the proposals and recommendations outlined would be translated into effective policies and initiatives capable of expanding opportunities and strengthening Bumiputera participation in strategic sectors.

The event was also attended by Terengganu State Executive Councillor Datuk Razali Idris, Ministry of Higher Education Secretary-General Dato’ Ts. Dr. Hj. Aminuddin Hassim and other community leaders.

KEUB 2026 is expected to serve as a catalyst for more impactful efforts to strengthen Bumiputera economic ownership, innovation and competitiveness at both the national and international levels. – The Capital Post
