KUALA LUMPUR, June 3, 2026 (The Capital Post) – According to information shared on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi (KPT), Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir visited the Malaysian Scholarly Publishing Council (MAPIM) Pavilion at the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (PBAKL) 2026 held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL).

During the visit, Zambry emphasised that quality scholarly publications and a strong support ecosystem are key drivers in expanding public access to knowledge while reinforcing the role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) as centres of knowledge creation.

The minister expressed appreciation to all parties involved in making the MAPIM Pavilion a success, particularly MAPIM Chairperson Associate Professor Dr. Siti Rahmah Awang for her continued commitment to ensuring the pavilion remains a key platform for university publishers nationwide.

He also acknowledged the support of the National Book Council of Malaysia (MBKM) as the organiser of PBAKL 2026 and WTCKL for providing a strategic platform to showcase scholarly publications produced by local universities.

According to Zambry, the close collaboration between MAPIM, MBKM, WTCKL and higher education institutions has enabled academic works to be displayed in a more organised and accessible manner while reaching a broader audience.

He congratulated participating universities for successfully showcasing their publications, reflecting the strength and maturity of Malaysia’s academic publishing ecosystem.

He added that local universities possess strong expertise across various fields and should continue translating that knowledge into impactful publications that enhance the visibility of Malaysia’s higher education sector.

Zambry also expressed hope that more private higher education institutions, state-owned universities and government-linked investment company (GLIC) universities would participate in future MAPIM pavilions to further expand the nation’s knowledge-sharing agenda.
