KUALA LUMPUR, 7 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia has been selected as the first host country for the inaugural Yalla Commerce Global E-Commerce Summit, bringing together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and digital commerce experts from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Malaysia and the wider region.
Yalla Commerce, a UAE-born global e-commerce summit, announced that Kuala Lumpur will serve as the launch destination for its multi-city international summit series, highlighting Malaysia’s growing importance within Southeast Asia’s digital economy.
According to Yalla Commerce Chief Executive Officer Arfa Hussain, Malaysia was chosen due to its vibrant e-commerce ecosystem, strong digital adoption and significant regional growth potential.
“Malaysia was a clear choice for the launch of Yalla Commerce. The country has one of the most active and promising e-commerce ecosystems in Southeast Asia. By launching in Kuala Lumpur, we aim to bring UAE and Malaysian industry leaders together to create meaningful cross-border conversations, unlock new opportunities and support e-commerce founders as they prepare for the next phase of growth,” she said.
The summit comes at a time when e-commerce businesses worldwide are navigating challenges including geopolitical uncertainty, rising operational costs, shipping and logistics disruptions, evolving consumer behaviour and the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in commerce.
Organisers said the event aims to provide founders and operators with insights into changing market conditions while helping them identify new digital trade opportunities between Malaysia, the UAE and other regional markets.
The inaugural edition of Yalla Commerce will take place on 11 August 2026 at Nexus, Connexion Conference & Event Centre in Kuala Lumpur. The event is expected to attract approximately 1,000 participants, including founders, entrepreneurs, investors, brands, digital platforms and ecosystem partners.

In addition to keynote presentations and panel discussions, attendees will have access to practical workshops, business matchmaking sessions, networking opportunities and interactive brand activations designed to foster collaboration and business development.
Organisers said the summit is intended to serve as a platform for founders and business leaders to connect with industry decision-makers, investors, payment providers, logistics experts and technology partners who are shaping the future of digital commerce.
The Kuala Lumpur launch will also strengthen digital trade connections between Southeast Asia and the Middle East, leveraging Malaysia’s growing e-commerce ecosystem and the UAE’s strengths in trade, logistics and digital business development.
