JOHOR BAHRU, 8 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) Steven Sim Chee Keong paid a working visit to Bank Rakyat at Coronation Square in conjunction with the Hebatkan Perniagaan Malaysia (HPM) 2026 Carnival Johor Edition, which was held from 5 to 7 June.
According to a post published on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pembangunan Usahawan dan Koperasi, the visit formed part of efforts to strengthen support for entrepreneurs and small businesses, while highlighting the role of financial institutions in expanding access to business financing across the country.
During the visit, Steven expressed his appreciation to Bank Rakyat employees for their commitment and dedication in helping facilitate business financing assistance for entrepreneurs in Johor. He acknowledged the bank’s contribution in supporting the growth and sustainability of local businesses through accessible financial solutions.
He also voiced hope that Bank Rakyat would continue to enhance its efforts in line with KUSKOP’s mission to strengthen and elevate Malaysian businesses, particularly among micro, small and medium enterprises seeking opportunities to expand and remain competitive in an evolving economic landscape.
The HPM 2026 Carnival serves as a platform to connect entrepreneurs with financing providers, government agencies and industry stakeholders, while promoting business development and economic empowerment initiatives nationwide.
