MPOB Unveils Nine Palm Oil Innovations to Drive Commercialisation

BANGI, 30 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (KPK), through the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), today unveiled nine new high-impact technologies and services aimed at accelerating the commercialisation of locally developed innovations while strengthening the competitiveness of Malaysia’s palm oil industry.

The innovations were launched by Minister of Plantation and Commodities Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad during the 32nd MPOB Palm Oil Technology Transfer Programme (TOT MPOB 2026) held at the MPOB Headquarters in Bandar Baru Bangi.

Among the innovations introduced were the artificial intelligence (AI)-powered SawitSCAN solution, the Sawit EcoTherm oleochemical innovation, and next-generation food products developed to create greater value across the palm oil supply chain.

The programme also featured the exchange of six Memoranda of Agreement (MoA) and Memoranda of Understanding (MoU), as well as the presentation of two Letters of Intent (LoI) involving local companies and business chambers to expand strategic collaboration in the commercialisation and application of palm oil-based technologies.

According to a Facebook post by Kementerian Perladangan dan Komoditi – KPK, the introduction of the home-grown technologies highlights Malaysia’s research and development capabilities in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that can generate greater value for the agricommodity sector while supporting national economic growth.

The ministry said it will continue strengthening research, innovation and technology transfer initiatives through MPOB to drive the development of a sustainable, inclusive and globally competitive agricommodity industry, while expanding the commercialisation of locally developed palm oil technologies. – The Capital Post.
