KUALA LUMPUR, 1 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that human judgment, guided by wisdom, ethics and responsibility, must remain at the heart of decision-making despite the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI).

Speaking at the launch of Ant International’s Global Development Centre (GDC) Kuala Lumpur, Anwar said AI is reshaping the global business, trade and financial landscape by transforming the way companies operate, while influencing credit assessment, risk management, cross-border trade and the broader economic ecosystem.

However, he emphasised that technological progress should not come at the expense of human values, noting that ethical considerations and responsible governance must continue to underpin every decision in the digital age.

Anwar also described Ant International’s decision to establish its Global Development Centre in Malaysia as timely, following the launch of the Malaysia Digital Blueprint 2030 earlier this week. He said the investment reflects growing confidence among global investors in Malaysia’s policies, economic stability and long-term development agenda.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister said Malaysia’s digital transformation agenda must continue to balance technological innovation with strong human values to ensure sustainable and inclusive national development. – The Capital Post.
