KOTA KINABALU, 4 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – CCI France Malaysia (CCIFM) has concluded a four-day business delegation to Sabah, underscoring growing French interest in expanding investments and strengthening commercial ties in East Malaysia.
Held from 23 to 26 June in conjunction with the Sabah Oil, Gas & Energy Conference and Exhibition (SOGCE) 2026, the delegation brought together more than 50 participants representing 25 French and Malaysian companies to explore business opportunities and engage with key industry stakeholders.
The programme featured presentations and dialogue sessions with Invest Sabah and the Strategic Planning Energy Commission of Sabah, alongside visits to Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park and Sapangar Bay Port. The engagements provided delegates with insights into Sabah’s investment landscape, industrial development priorities and long-term economic growth plans.
Participants also toured strategic infrastructure and energy-related facilities, highlighting Sabah’s expanding industrial ecosystem and reinforcing its position as an attractive destination for foreign investment.
CCIFM President Richard Fostier said the initiative was aimed at strengthening collaboration between French and Malaysian stakeholders while fostering long-term partnerships that contribute to Sabah’s economic development.
Following the business mission, CCIFM participated in SOGCE 2026 through the CCI France Malaysia–TotalEnergies Pavilion, which showcased French expertise in the energy, engineering, environmental, telecommunications and industrial sectors. The pavilion featured companies including TotalEnergies, Iraya Energies, SeaOwl, P&A, Enviros, Botanickel, IEC Telecom, BIO-EX and 3C Metal Asia.

The pavilion was visited by the French Ambassador to Malaysia, Marc Abensour, who reaffirmed France’s commitment to strengthening bilateral economic relations and supporting new partnerships in Sabah.
CCIFM also hosted an exclusive networking reception sponsored by IEC Telecom, bringing together delegates, exhibitors, government representatives and industry leaders to promote business collaboration and investment opportunities.
Established in 1991, CCI France Malaysia represents more than 320 member companies and supports a French business community of over 600 companies operating across Malaysia through business development, market access and corporate support services.
