NEW YORK 3 July 2026, (The Capital Post) – Malaysia has reinforced its commitment to global peace and security through active participation at the Fourth United Nations High-Level Conference on Counter-Terrorism held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, where the country’s delegation from the Ministry of Home Affairs Kementerian Dalam Negeri, Ministry of Home Affairs Malaysia played a prominent role in key strategic discussions.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail emphasised that combating terrorism requires strong international cooperation, integrated strategies, and whole-of-society involvement to ensure lasting global peace. His remarks underscored Malaysia’s continued advocacy for collaborative security frameworks at the international level.
During the conference, Dato’ Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Abdul Rahman was entrusted to deliver Malaysia’s National Statement at the UN General Assembly Hall under Agenda Item 118, which focuses on the report of the UN Secretary-General on the Ninth Review of the Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy.

Malaysia outlined its firm commitment to multilateral efforts in countering terrorism and extremism, while highlighting its comprehensive approach that aligns domestic security strategies with global frameworks. The country also stressed the importance of cooperation grounded in peace, justice, and sustainable development as essential pillars in addressing security threats.
The delegation further showcased Malaysia’s growing credibility as a regional partner in developing inclusive, sustainable, and effective prevention strategies.
