Kementerian Digital and MyCC strengthen procurement governance

PUTRAJAYA, 7 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Digital and the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) have signed a Letter of Understanding (LOU) as a strategic move to strengthen government procurement governance and combat bid-rigging cartel practices under the Competition Act 2010 (Act 713).

The LOU was signed by Ministry of Digital Secretary-General Datuk Fabian Bigar and MyCC Chairman Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Idrus Harun, representing the commitment of both parties to enhance integrity, transparency and accountability in public sector procurement.

The strategic collaboration includes expertise sharing, advisory support to reduce the risks of bid-rigging cartels, and capacity-building programmes to strengthen compliance with Act 713 while promoting fairer, more transparent and ethical procurement practices.

The Ministry of Digital said the initiative reflects its commitment to strengthening good governance and ensuring government procurement processes are managed with integrity, accountability and greater value for the public.

The collaboration is also expected to contribute towards enhancing public confidence in government service delivery through improved procurement standards and oversight.
