KUALA LUMPUR, 9 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Works (KKR) is reviewing a proposal to extend Federal Road FT131 to Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Kelantan as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s road network.

According to the ministry, a traffic study identified several congestion hotspots along FT131, which are currently being addressed through the upgrading of FT209 and FT131 from the Pasir Hor Interchange to Panchor.

For the section beyond Panchor Junction linking to Jalan Padang Tembak, KKR said traffic conditions remain satisfactory, with Level of Service (LOS) B recorded on FT131 and LOS C on Jalan Padang Tembak, indicating that traffic continues to flow smoothly.

The ministry said it remains open to infrastructure proposals from state governments to improve the national road network in line with public needs and local economic development.
