KUALA LUMPUR, 12 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – Online bus ticketing platform redBus has expanded its partnership with Grab to Malaysia, enabling users to book intercity bus and ferry services directly through the Grab app without requiring a separate application or account.

The integration forms part of Grab’s Partner App Program, allowing users to browse, compare and book bus and ferry journeys within the Grab ecosystem while making secure payments through GrabPay and earning GrabCoins on eligible transactions.

The service provides access to more than 200 bus and ferry operators across Malaysia and Singapore, enabling travellers to plan domestic journeys, Malaysia–Singapore cross-border travel, and ferry services between Malaysia and Indonesia through a single platform.

To mark the launch, eligible users will enjoy a 50 per cent promotional discount on redBus bookings made via the Grab app during the campaign period. Additional incentives will also be available for GrabUnlimited subscribers and Grab Travel Pass holders.

redBus Chief Business Officer Krishnan Ramaswami said the collaboration reflects the growing demand for travel services that are integrated into digital platforms consumers already use daily.

“Customers increasingly expect travel services to be accessible within the digital platforms they already use. Our partnership with Grab reflects a shared vision of simplifying mobility by bringing travel services into the digital ecosystems customers already trust and use every day,” he said.

He added that the collaboration reduces friction in travel planning while making intercity and cross-border travel more accessible and convenient for users in Malaysia.

The Malaysia rollout follows the successful launch of the service through Grab Singapore’s Partner App Program, where users responded positively to the convenience of booking bus tickets directly within the Grab app.

Users can access the new service by opening the Grab app on iOS or Android devices and selecting the Bus & Ferry icon. – The Capital Post.
