NRES Strengthens Federal Land Governance and Monitoring

PUTRAJAYA, 22 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the governance and monitoring of Federal land assets through strategic coordination among its divisions and agencies.

The ministry convened the Federal Land Management and Monitoring Committee (JPTP) Meeting No. 1/2026, chaired by Deputy Secretary-General (Natural Resources) Datuk Khalid Mohamed.

The meeting focused on strategic directions and measures to strengthen the management, monitoring and coordination of Federal land assets under NRES. Discussions also centred on improving land governance, enhancing the effectiveness of land status monitoring, addressing inter-agency management issues and ensuring Federal land assets are utilised optimally, prudently and sustainably in line with national policies and sustainability goals.

NRES said close collaboration among its divisions and agencies remains key to delivering more efficient, transparent and impactful management of Federal land assets for the benefit of the people and the nation’s development.
