FARNBOROUGH, UNITED KINGDOM, 22 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) strengthened its international defence engagement at the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) 2026 through a series of strategic meetings with leading global defence and aerospace companies.
The Malaysian delegation was led by Defence Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali and Royal Malaysian Air Force Chief General Tan Sri Muhamad Norazlan Aris.
On the opening day of FIA 2026, the delegation held bilateral discussions with D&D Enterprise LLC of the United States, Leonardo of Italy, Safran of France, GE Aerospace of the United States, Hanwha Aerospace of the Republic of Korea, MBDA of France, Airbus, BAE Systems of the United Kingdom and Embraer of Brazil.
The discussions focused on exploring opportunities for strategic collaboration, technology transfer and defence capability development to strengthen the operational readiness of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) while enhancing the capabilities of Malaysia’s domestic defence industry.

MINDEF said the engagements reflected its continued commitment to strengthening the national defence industry ecosystem in line with the National Defence Industry Policy (DIPN), particularly through international industrial cooperation, technology transfer, human capital development, industrial capability enhancement and greater participation of Malaysian companies in the global defence and aerospace value chain.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pertahanan Malaysia, the engagements form part of Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to expand international partnerships and build a more resilient and competitive defence industry.- The Capital Post.
