HULU TERENGGANU, July 28, 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) is stepping up efforts to enhance tourism products at Tasik Kenyir through the completion of infrastructure upgrade projects aimed at improving visitor experiences and strengthening the destination’s eco-tourism appeal.
MOTAC Secretary-General Datuk Shaharuddin Abu Sohot attended the PPUN 2025 Project Handover and Site Visitwith the Central Terengganu Development Authority (KETENGAH) to review the completed tourism projects at Tasik Kenyir.
The projects involved the upgrading and refurbishment of tourism facilities at Tanjung Bewah, Gua Bewah and Melunak Trail in Hulu Terengganu.
The improvements are designed to enhance the quality, safety and comfort of visitors while boosting the competitiveness of Tasik Kenyir as one of Malaysia’s premier eco-tourism destinations.
MOTAC said it remains committed to strengthening strategic collaboration with implementing and technical agencies to ensure tourism development projects are delivered effectively and generate positive outcomes for the country’s tourism sector.

The initiative also supports the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI and the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
Also present was MOTAC Terengganu Director Mazshidah Ruslal.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pelancongan, Seni dan Budaya Malaysia, the completed projects are expected to improve tourism infrastructure while enhancing the overall visitor experience at Tasik Kenyir. – The Capital Post
