PUTRAJAYA, 6 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia and Europe are expanding strategic cooperation in sustainability, climate action and green economic development through a meeting between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), the EU-ASEAN Business Council and The European Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia.
The courtesy visit to NRES focused on exploring opportunities in sustainable investments, green technology development and efforts to accelerate the transition towards a low-carbon economy.
The discussions were held with Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Dato’ Sri Arthur Joseph Kurup and NRES Secretary-General Datuk Wira Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin.
The ministry said the collaboration would create greater opportunities for knowledge sharing, technology exchange and investment between Malaysia and Europe, supporting the country’s efforts to build a greener, more resilient and competitive economy.

Also present was Deputy Secretary-General (Natural Resources) Dato’ Khalid Mohamed.
